NOOOOOOO!!!!!

Well hello there readers! As you can see, lately I've had some time on my hands. I've been sick, and it's also a Friday night, so I have all the time in the world!

Let's blog people! Alright. I've done posts with the fashion "don'ts" in them before, but now, I'm going to dedicate an entire post to these clothing monstrosities! Let's do this.

(P.S. I do not intend to insult any of the people wearing these outfits, nor do I wish to judge their style as a whole, I am pointing out the flaws in some outfits. We all have them, but, umm, these... well they seem to be worthy of twenty years in Fashion Prison.)

I'm also rating these outfits from 1-10. 1 being slightly disturbing, and 10 being outrageously sick. (not the good sick, like the disturbed sick.)

 CAUTION: MAY CAUSE BLINDNESS. ~10~

Oh my. That is one interesting table cloth. ~4~

It looks like a rainbow threw up on a cotton ball. ~8~

The equivalent of a badly dressed chameleon. ~6~

 SO AWFUL.  ~6~

So terrible. I know. I'm sorry you had to see that, but I want to show you what not to do. Cuz if you do, I might have to arrest you.

THANKS!!!

Food and Fashion

Hey people! Here is that interesting post I told you about...
Okay, so, did you know food and fashion have a lot in common? They both have design, inspiration, color, etc. Now, I'm going to find a beautiful dish, and try to find it's match in a piece of clothing like a dress, pantsuit of cute little outfit. If you are confused at all, just stay tuned, I'll make sure you get it in the end.

So here we go!!! Here's our first dish:

Waffles! The wonderful breakfast food... Now let's see if we can find an outfit that resembles this delectable  delicacy ....

Here you are! I love the neutral colors, and the square pattern on the top gives hint to my whole waffle idea.

Okay! Next:

A rainbow cupcake! I mean seriously, how freaking awesome is that! They look so yummy! And I do believe that is a marshmallow icing if I'm not mistaken... Anyway, let's see if we can find something that looks like this yummy pastry.

Aha! This fabulous little maxi dress ties in the wonderful rainbow stripes from the bottom of the cupcake, and the fluffy white icing. Great for a little summer party.

Alrighty, on to the next one. Here you are:

Ahh, the classic eggs benedict. How powerfully delicious, and subtly amazing. Let us find an outfit to compliment it...

Jennifer Love Hewitt and her classy yellow dress! It resembles the yolk of the dish, and I just love the dress! I do love that show Ghost Whisperer too... it's very addicting to watch. Anyhow, I adore the dress! YAY!

Okie dokie then! There you have it, Food and Fashion, merged together in the best way possible. I hope you enjoyed, bon appetite! Thanks for reading...

CHRISTMAS!!!

Hey there! I do believe it's time for a Christmas post! So here we go! Merry Christmas to all!

Okay. I'm gonna tell you the best way to pull of a Christmas outfit without it ending up bad. It takes some skill to not mess up a Christmas outfit, and I'm very practiced in the area, since Christmas is my favorite holiday.

Okay. Let's say that you're not big on dresses. But you're parents are making you wear one for Christmas. Here's what you do, because this is technically classified as a dress:

The ultimate sweater-dress! Take a white or red sweater dress, slip on some heels (or shiny flats,) a necklace, some fingerless gloves and rock you're Christmas dress!

Alrighty. Now, let's say you're a girly-girl. Here's you're best shot at a classy Christmas dress:

Work it girl! The shiny top is eye-catching while the satin bottom and red bow tie the whole thing together. The perfect dress for a fancy Christmas party.

Next I will show you how to put together a casual Christmas outfit, for school or the office:

Perfecto! I love the pants. You can pair them with flats or heels. Even fancy sandles if you live in a warmer climate.

So there you have it! Christmas style the Lady Beret way...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! :)

Celebrity Outfits

Hey! I havn't blogged in forever! No excuses though, I'm a busy girl. You will not guess what happened to me the other day! I accidentally put on a dress that just so happened to be an example of color blocking! It's a long maxi dress, totally boho, and it layers (from top to bottom),

Green
Aqua Marine
Brown
Green

It's a great dress. I'm going to figure out how to use this site called drop box so I can post pictures of my outfits on my blog for you. Just so you can get a better taste of my fashion sense xD

Okay! On to the topic I wish to discuss today. Celebrity Outfits! I'm going to go through a bunch of pictures of celeb fashion do's and don't's and I'm gonna tell you why I like them, or don't like them. So here we go!

Let's start with Selena Gomez. The disney wizard with some sassy charm. I will feature 3 of her styles:

selena gomez clothes fashion at 2011 peoples choice awards 2 J'adore this dress! The whole long in the back, short in the front thing makes your legs look great! (she looks like she's having fun!)

I just LOVE this shirt, jeans, and flats combo. Kinda preppy-schoolgirl-chic. Shown here with boyfriend Justin Bieber (Whom I adore thoroughly). The casual jeans and the flowy shirt are wonderful together in every way.

I really like this dress! It's so ruffley and lacey...
The long sleeves and short skirt totally work together. Also, a little tip to add, if you have dark hair, stick to lighter colors, and with light hair, stick to darker colors. The contrast is amazing. (And for the in-between red-heads, green is always a great color.)

Okay! On to the next star.

Emma Watson! The notorious fashionista, her debut on Harry Potter has put her on the fast track in the world of fame. I will feature 3 of her styles, also.

This dress is just fabulous! The little train behind leaves the feel of a wedding almost... and the ruffle on the top adds a little something extra.

This is the best casual look out there-- a skirt, flats, t-shirt, and jacket or sweater. It's so perfect! It just lays right on the bod, and is great if you're in a rush in the morning.

This dress is adorable! Short and sexy, yet fun and young. I like the feathers at the bottom. This dress would be really fun to go clubbing in.

Okie dokie! Next celeb!

Let's go with a guy this time. Chord Overstreet! The hottie from glee, with a voice as smooth as honey...

I really like this. The colors work great togehter, and the shirt is a little jacket-ish and it totally works on him. Casual and sporty.

This cutie is rocking the sunglasses and v-neck tee. Gotta love it. (Him and Emma are so cute together!)

Lookin' spiffy Chord! This dark grey dress coat looks awesome with the same-color shirt and tie.

Ok! Now on to the don'ts. The MAJOR don'ts. Here we go...you might want to sheild you're eyes....

Nicki Minaj:

Oh my god.... WHY???? This dress is absolutely horrible. I don't even know.... I love you Nicki, but REALLY bad dress choice... reeeeaaaallly bad.....

Katy Perry and friend:

Katy = amazing dress! Friend = horrendous...

Ke$ha:

What the hell?! I mean REALLY? I'm all for appreciation of your country, but seriously! What was she thinking!? I like the boots though... the only highlight of the outfit....

Little red riding hood gone bad... so freaking scary.... SO cliche.

Okay! These outfits are pretty hysterical, right!? Well I hope you enjoyed this particularly long post! I worked hard on it.

Color Blocking

Hello readers! I have decided to talk to you today about Color Blocking.
It's one of the newest trends, and I REALLY love the way it looks.

You can do color blocking with a nice pant and shirt, like this:

Go Rhi Rhi! This is a classic way to color block. It's basically piling another color, on top of another color, and she is totally rocking this outfit.

This is a classic example of color blocking with a maxi dress. Perfect for spring, or early fall.

Here are some runway examples. My fave is the last one. I absolsolutely LOVE the shiny jacket. So chic.

As you can see, color blocking is an awesome way to spice up your life with color. Rainy days can't touch you if you're wearing something this happy.

Okay, now for a special little surprise. I want to show you something a little outrageous that my friends told me to talk about on my blog.

Lady Gaga and her meat dress!!! I want you guys to comment about it! I think it's quite a fashion statement, but I'm not completely sure I would want to wear it. There would be some major showering involved afterwards. And can someone please tell me if this is really meat or not?! I mean for real. Meat? I love you Gaga but, meat in a dress!? A bit over the top, if you ask me.

Thank you so much for reading! I will update as soon as I can. I have lot's more ideas to discuss with you , so make sure you check in to see if I;ve posted anything new!

Thanks again,

Hello!

I know it seems as if I have dropped off the face of the earth, correct? Well I rest assure you, I am still alive and well. Let me explain to you why I've been gone for so long:

1. When I was sick, I missed a LOT of make-up work for school. Obviously it was the only three days of the year that  one of my teachers decided to pummel us with work.
2. I went to a new dance studio on a past Thursday, and that took up much of my time. I also researched so many dance studios in my area until my head hurt.
3. Last Wednesday I was taking a break from that make-up work (yes it has taken me that long to get it done) and I was relaxing in my chair, propping my feet up on my desk. Unfortunately, I have one of those rolling chairs, along with a hard-wood floor. Note to self: hard wood floors and rolling chairs DO NOT MIX! My chair just decided to flip out from under me, resulting a bruised and confused Lady Beret on the floor. I had a mild to moderate concussion, which has not been enjoyable for the past few days.

So. Pardon me for not blogging, but I am back and ready with lot's of new topics. :)

Okay! My first topic I wish to discuss is the new Marni t-shirts designed by underprivileged children in South America and East Asia (according to my resources).

This is one of the jacket-shirts designed by one of the children. Marni is trying to hold on to the  imaginative side of life with these creations. I love all of the colors and I thing the concept is so sweet and amazing. A lot of the money spent on these pieces are sent to educational places, along with hospitals and other learning centers. So go to www.marni.com and look at all of them. I think it's s awesome, and who doesn't love a great cause, right?

Here are some more of the shirts:

MARNI - Shopping Bag

MARNI - Bandolier

MARNI - Short Sleeve T-Shirt

MARNI - Sleeveless T-Shirt

I just love this new collection! I do believe it's temporary (not sure, you might want to check on that), so go and give them a look! See if anything tickles you're fancy. :)

Thanks so much, glad to be back. Happy thanksgiving to all! (I have a special Thanksgiving themed post coming soon!)
